The Miracle Story

I have a friend who does not believe in the God of Abraham or in the person
and work of Jesus Christ. They were born into a Reformed family here in
Michigan to a minister father who together with his wife drove this and all
their children AWAY from the faith. Well fast forward to last Friday night
when I was in the midst of that severe sore throat. After a long
conversation with this friend I was lead by the Holy Spirit to ask them to
pray for me..as a favor. So I did ask them, and went a step further and said
"AND AT THE END OF YOUR PRAYER WOULD YOU ASK FOR MY HEALING IN THE NAME OF
JESUS?" To my shock they agreed, but conditionally. They said they would
pray if I promised to go to the doctor about my throat. Which I was going to
do, but on Monday and only if my throat was really hurting. But I was
really expecting a "miracle" to happen on Saturday. I was expecting to wake
up with no more sore throat, no more swelling and when my disbelieving
friend heard this they would drop to their knees and accept Jesus as their
personal savior. But to my horror when I woke up my throat was more sore
than ever before! Now understand that I had no intentions of going to the
doctor until at least Monday, but God had something else in mind. So I wake
up my throat more sore than ever before which drove me to the urgent care on
Riley, where the doc on call decided that my situation warranted him calling
a specialist to get a recommendation. But instead the specialist decided to
COME IN and treat me. Something I understand rarely if ever happens. So
that's two miracles that I didn't recognize because my faith was being
challenged..not by God but by satan our mortal enemy (of the born again
believer). So I laid there and got angry with God for 1) not healing me
causing me to have to pay MORE money for treatments 2) for not healing me so
that my friend would be convicted and would accept Jesus and 3) for making
me have to get a shot in my butt and another three IN THE ABSCESS in MY
THROAT! Typical of the believer when things don't go our way right! Anyway,
the I walked out of there with the abscess all gone, antibiotics and a smile
on my face and then it dawned on me...I was given three miracles by God.
1) By allowing my throat to get even more sore forced me to go to the urgent care
which I had decided that I was NOT going to do. 2) The doctor on call cared enough
to call a specialist to get their opinion on what should be done to help me. And
3) The specialist actually came IN to treat me which those who work at the urgent care
told me almost NEVER happens! Usually they tell the attending doctor to give
meds and then have the patient go see them the next work day. It
also dawned on me that God DOES answer prayers but according to HIS will and
not my own. So I was healed just not the way that I wanted. I also learned, or rather
was reminded that God does NOT test our faith, but rather satan our enemy DOES. He also tries to shake our faith and that morning mine was both tested and shaken. Now I don't know what kind of effect this event had on the friend of mine
who doesn't believe, but then that's not my worry. As a believer I am only suppose
to share the good news of salvation, which I have, and I shared the end result
of their prayer which was my going into the urgent care and being healed. So remember friend,
when it seems like God is listening, He is. When it seems like God isn't answering prayers, He is.
And when your faith is being tested, know that God according to His word will never
allow more trouble or pain, or suffering than is common to man, or that you can bear,
AND, He will always provide a way out of that trial if you stand on His word, be patient,
and trust in Him. And that is my miracle story. I hope you are blessed by it.
