(Detroit, MI) -- Family members of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick were responsible for a large part of his last restitution payment of over 40-thousand dollars. The Wayne County Prosecutor's office identified the names on money orders yesterday that were sent to the state last month. Kilpatrick's grandfather, sister, brother in law and uncle all contributed money. The prosecutor's office says Kilpatrick has not listed these money orders as gifts or benefits which is a violation of a previous order. Judge David Groner ordered Kilpatrick to pay 79-thousand dollars in restitution by February 19th and 240-thousand dollars in April.
